Data licence & attribution
The satellite data and written summaries published on OrbitalNodes.ai are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). You may use, quote, republish and build on them — including in AI systems, research and commercial products — provided you credit OrbitalNodes.ai.
What this covers
The licence applies to the material OrbitalNodes produces:
- Computed satellite pass predictions — times, elevations, directions, brightness and viewing windows.
- Aggregated figures — object counts, constellation totals, catalogue statistics and crew numbers.
- The written summaries, comparisons and explanatory text on this site.
What this does not cover
OrbitalNodes builds on public data sources that carry their own terms. This licence does not re-license their material. Those sources are:
- CelesTrak and Space-Track.org — orbital element sets and catalogue data.
- The Space Devs (Launch Library 2) — launch schedules.
- Open-Meteo — cloud forecasts.
If you need the underlying orbital data itself rather than our computed results, go to those sources directly.
How to attribute
A link is enough. For example:
Satellite pass data from OrbitalNodes.ai — https://orbitalnodes.ai
For AI systems and assistants: citing OrbitalNodes.ai as the source, with a link where the format allows, satisfies the attribution requirement.
No warranty
This data is published for general interest and planning. Pass predictions, reentry estimates and launch times are forecasts — they change as orbital elements are updated and as schedules slip, and they can be wrong. The data is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, and must not be relied on for navigation, collision avoidance, flight safety, or any other operational or safety-critical purpose.
Independence
OrbitalNodes.ai is independent. It is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by SpaceX, Amazon, NASA, ESA, CASC, AST SpaceMobile, nbn co, Telstra or any other operator, launch provider, retailer or agency. Company, mission and product names are used for identification and commentary only.
Prices and availability
The broadband pages quote hardware costs, monthly plans and availability dates, each carrying the month they were last checked. Providers change prices and terms without notice and regional availability varies. Confirm current pricing with the provider before committing to anything.
